Haringey Council - anti White racism

This is taken from a job vacancy for a Social Worker on Haringey Council's website. I cannot bring myself to comment on this. The irony just speaks volumes.

"Haringey is looking for qualified social workers ( DipSW, CQSW) with vision and enthusiasm to join its Children and Young Person’s Service. Based in Wood Green and Hornsey the service offers a high quality service in close partnership with our colleagues within the Primary Care Trust in order to ensure best outcomes for our children.

We are a forward-thinking authority and we are aiming high. In addition to being a three star authority we have achieved the ‘Investors in People’ award and are a Beacon Council. We have fully embraced information technology and the Integrated Children’s System.

Haringey is a vibrant and multicultural North London borough. We are dedicated to achieving positive outcomes for our children. We take our role as corporate parent seriously and believe that every child matters.

You will need to have a commitment to working with and an ability to work in within a multi agency team in order to ensure that our children reach their full potential. If you share our vision and are able to meet our high standards then a post with Haringey could be right for you.

We provide a high level of staff support and development including caseload weighting, regular supervision and appraisal and ongoing opportunities for training and development including post qualification training. In addition we offer a comprehensive range of staff benefits including flexible working arrangements and mobile phones for all frontline staff. Our salary and benefits packages are amongst the best in London – if this sounds appealing please give one of the Senior Team Managers a call today."
